How to Make Healthy Ragi Puttu:
Ragi puttu is made by Ragi flour. You can get ready made ragi flour in market .you can also make ragi flour at home by sprouted ragi. It is very healthy and cost saving also. You can make ragi idli/dosa, ragi kanchi and ragi idiyappan also. But now am going to make ragi puttu. You can prepare this just 15 minutes. Ragi puttu is healthy breakfast/ evening snack/dinner. It is easily digestible. So everyone can take this. Ragi is rich source of fiber, iron and calcium. It is good for all especially diabetes and weight loss. Ragi has high protein and Mineral Content.
- Ragi flour 2 Cups
- Brown Sugar/Jaggery ½ Cup
- Salt 1/2 Teaspoon
- Grated coconut 1 cup
- Ghee 3 Teaspoon
- Cardamom Powder As needed
- Water As needed
Instructions for Healthy Ragi Puttu:
1.Firstly, Take a bowl. Add Ragi flour into it.
2.Secondly Add Salt. It helps to enhance the sweetness.
3.Thirdly add Normal water. For this Puttu , Consistency of the Dough is very important. Add small intervals by sprinkling water little by little. If Dough’s consistency is watery, Puttu comes out very hard and more lumps. Mix the dough without lump. It is very important.
4.Next am going to do Steaming in Idli pan. So I applied ghee in idli plates first. Then Spread that ragi dough in it.
5.Once the water in idli pan was boiling well, keep this idli plate inside that pan on medium flame for 10 minutes.
6.After 10 minutes, just check with your fingers. Touch the Ragi dough ,If it is not stick in your fingers means, it steamed well.
7.Finally Transfer into a bowl. Add Grated coconut, Brown sugar,Ghee and cardamom powder. Mix well.
8.Easy and Healthy Breakfast- Healthy Ragi puttu is Ready. It is very very Tasty. You can swerve this recipe with Bananas.
I never use Refined Products Like Salt, Sugar And Oil. Also I don’t Use Maida, Artificial Colour and Flavours for my Recipes. I Never use Aluminium Utensils and Non Stick and Oven in My Cooking.
